When you finally start talking about a topic that makes everyone uncomfortable, it can lead to controversy. Many people would rather not talk about touchy, delicate subjects like childhood obesity. In Georgia, a campaign seeking to raise public awareness has implemented billboards with shock value. A wise person would say that on the one hand the shock value can raise awareness to an important issue surrounding weight loss, but on the other hand it could lead to a backlash, perhaps leading to more bullying in the schools against overweight children — and the wise answer probably lies in a balance between the two extremes.
